Today as I watch the news, reliving the horrific events of last Wednesday (January 6th, 2021), I wondered where I could turn to find comfort. For myself. For others needing a distraction.
I don't know about you, but I find solace in music. Always have, always will. Today, I find comfort in two songs featured in the animated movie 'Sing'. The first is Taron Egerton's (Johnny) rendition of 'I'm Still Standing' by Sir Elton John. The original version has gotten me through many a tough time.
The second: 'Set It All Free' by the character, Ash (Scarlett Johansson). This one I love because it kicks butt! Plus, it's fun and catchy! (Did I mention, I love animation?).
Both songs speak of personal strength and the power to believe that things will get better.
And for those of you who love Greek Mythology as much as I do, I leave you with this reference. Remember what was left in the box when Pandora inadvertently released the plagues into the world? HOPE!
